A Samsung Note 9 at Sh5 and an OPPO Find X at the same price are among the top deals that online shoppers can take home in the biggest Black Friday price cuts on e-commerce platform Jumia this November.
Ordinarily a Samsung Note retails for Sh105,000 while an OPPO Find X goes for Sh93,000 which essentially means shoppers who get these deals will buy the coveted smartphones at a 100 percent discount.
But shoppers will have to work smart in order to catch the deals.
The most important thing to note is this year’s Jumia Black Friday deals will be exclusively launched on the e-commerce platform app which can be downloaded here.
Secondly, shoppers timing must be perfect if they want to catch the biggest deals in daily flash sales.
According to Jumia Chief Executive Sam Chappatte, the e-commerce giant will be announcing the products on offer for flash sale everyday at exactly 9.00 am.
You can check today”s flash sale offers here. The deals will be on limited stocks and will last 24 hours.
What this means is that shoppers seeking to cash in on the crazy deals will have to be on the Jumia app at 9.00 am and make their orders fast enough to avoid losing out.
Shoppers who want to catch the 100 percent discounts on products will have to learn to engage in a treasure hunt on the e-commerce platform.
Jumia Black Friday Treasure Hunt is a shopping game that involves a shopper searching for products with the biggest price discounts which are usually hidden in product categories that they may not belong to.
For example, this week’s treasure hunt was on Sony Bravias 40” which were hidden in Tablet and Television products categories.
Next week, the products on offer in the Treasure Hunt will be Samsung single door refrigerators which will be selling for Sh5. There are eight refrigerators on offer, two per day from Monday to Thursday.
Tips on how to get one of the refrigerators are on the Jumia App complete with the categories where they will be hidden. You can view the Treasure Hunt products for next week from the app which can downloaded here.
This year’s Jumia’s Black Friday deals kicked off on November 2 and ends on November 30 with crazy discounts of up to 100 percent on products ranging from phones, computers, home appliances, clothing and fitness equipments.
The one month shopping event is running under the tagline: Every Friday is Black Friday this November!
The company expects this year’s event to be twice as large as 2017, continuing e-commerce’s strong growth.
The share of Jumia’s sales originating in the App has increased from 20 percent to 31 percent over the last year, showing growing loyalty to the platform & prompting the company to offer more App-Only-Deals. Desktop traffic share (from laptops) has dropped to 28 percent, reflecting the high share of Kenyans accessing the internet through smartphones (Kenya is the global leader in mobile internet).
“We want to reward our most loyal customers with our best deals. This is why we are launching App-Only-Deals this Black Friday. Customers can find the best deals, and benefit from faster shopping & lower data costs on our app”, says Chappatte.
