Kenya’s First Lady Rachel Ruto will prioritise learning about strategies for improving access to universal healthcare, with a particular focus on cancer research and treatment during the United States (US) visit with Kenya’s president Dr. William Ruto.
In a statement circulated to media outlets on her arrival at Atlanta, Georgia, her office she will also prioritise economic empowerment partnerships, the creation of opportunities for higher learning and skill development for the youth.
As part of the itinerary in US, Rachel will today accompany the president in visits the Carter Presidential Library and Museum, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and the Centre Disease Control (CDC) headquarters in Atlanta. Additionally, she will also will engage with the Kenyan Diaspora in Atlanta together with the president.
Rachel and the president arrived in Atlanta today on the first state visit by a Kenyan Head of State in two decades, as well as the first by an African Head of State since 2008.
