British American Tobacco Kenya (BAT Kenya) has announced the appointment of former Deloitte East Africa Chief Executive and current Gulf Africa Petroleum managing director to its board.
The company announced the appointment of Samuel Onyango and Dr. Samuel Irungu in a board statement sent to Nairobi Securities Exchange and signed by company secretary Waeni Ngae.
Onyango has extensive audit experience, having served for 38 years in various audit roles and has contributed to the development of the accounting profession in East, Central and Southern Africa through past roles; including as Chair of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and president of the Eastern, Central and Southern Africa Federation of Accountants.
Dr Irungu who is also a Director of the Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Commission and a Director of Total Kenya has over 28 years’ experience in various senior management roles within the oil industry,in and outside Kenya.
