In a bid to escalate the war against pervasive illicit trade in the country, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) will tomorrow meet the businesses community at a forum to be held at its Times Tower headquarters.
The meeting, according to KRA will be addressed by KRA Commissioner General John Njiraini and Principal Secretary for Trade and Cooperatives Dr Chris Kiptoo.
Other high profile speakers at the forum will include chief executives of government agencies involved in the fight against illicit trade.
In a statement to newsrooms, KRA said the forum is aimed at winning support for the on-going fight against tax evasion, smuggling and trade in counterfeit goods.

“The multi-agency team is led by KRA and include the following institutions: Ministry of Interior & Coordination of National Government, Anti-Counterfeit Agency, National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug (NACADA), National Police, National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, National Police Service, Public Health, and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and is part of KRA’s campaign against tax evasion and smuggling, as well as to protect the public from consuming substandard goods,” said KRA in the statement.
