Dutch firm, De Heus Animal Nutrition Limited will next week break ground for the construction of a Sh3 billion state of the art livestock feeds factory in Athi River, Machakos County.
A notice of the event circulated to media houses on 26th March 2024 said construction work on the factory will be completed in the second half of 2025 paving way for commercial operations to commence.
Once operations start, the plant will produce an estimated 200,000 Metric Tonnes of Animal feeds targeted at the regional Poultry, Swine, Aqua and Ruminant sectors while creating upwards of 1000 direct and indirect jobs across the animal feeds and related value chains.
